Zuckerberg -- the other one-- talks about social media
For Randi Zuckerberg and for the company so tied to her last name -- Facebook -- the 2008 presidential election was a defining moment both for the company and for the older sister of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg .
"It was our singular mission to show that people on Facebook were talking about real topics ... not just frivolous poking," Randi Zuckerberg, Facebook's longtime marketing director, said Wednesday.
For Zuckerberg, helping Facebook bring social media to the political debate ultimately led her to move out on her own. The 29-year-old resigned from Facebook in August to launch her own startup, RtoZ Media. At the time of her resignation, she said almost nothing about her plans. But in an interview with this newspaper Wednesday, Zuckerberg talked in more detail about her evolving plans for her online video startup, which she hopes to launch before the end of the year.
